What are Wrinkles Anyway?

Wrinkles occur when skin dries and is unable to repair itself.

When you think about wrinkles, you generally want to think about two things: skin dryness and elasticity. Preventing dryness and improving elasticity are the best bets to reducing or eliminating wrinkles.

What Causes Wrinkles?

There are many things that cause wrinkles. Of course, the most common cause is the body's natural aging, however there are other factors that also increase the chances that you will develop wrinkles.

This includes:

  • Smoking
  • Exposure to sunlight
  • Muscle use (yes, it's true - you shouldn't frown too much)
  • Hormones
  • Gravity!

How Can I Prevent Wrinkles?

To keep your skin from drying out, avoid excessive sunlight, and when you are in the sun, use sunscreen. Don't smoke and stay away from others that smoke. Use a moisturizing cream design to reduce wrinkles (check out the products offered by Dermitage and IQ Derma, for example).

Consider anti-wrinkle products that increase skin elasticity. Again, check out our reviews of the leading wrinkle creams to learn more.
